The Romanians’ New Rocketship Is A 1500 HP Porsche 911 Turbo: Video

When you think of Romania… Actually, that was a stupid phrase. You probably don’t think of Romania. But if anything could put the Eastern European country on the map for us gearheads, it might be this: a stratospheric 1500 HP Porsche 911 Turbo (Type 997).

Built by Romania’s Exelixis Motorsport – a group which typically sticks to the R35 Nissan GT-R – this Porsche 911 Turbo is allegedly the most powerful Type 997 in the world. Owner Sergey Ignatko claims that it is also the most powerful Tiptronic-equipped Porsche in the world.

The car is dubbed the Exelixis EXL 1500R, and features twin Precision Turbo 6266s putting out 3 bars of boost pressure. The guys at Exelixis are claiming 1512 BHP on race fuel, and they have the dyno charts to prove it. On pump gas, the car puts out a commendable 1022 HP, though it’s unclear whether that’s done maintaining the same high boost pressure.

Sergey Ignatko says that his dream for this 1500 HP Porsche 911 Turbo is to run a sub-nine-second quarter-mile, because no Porsche has ever accomplished that before. We’re going to go ahead and say that he stands a good chance of being the first.
