A lot of Ford folks have been wondering if the 2016 Shelby Mustang GT350 will push past $70,000 like the Camaro Z/28 or if it will be more available to mortals like us. So you Blue Oval faithful can breath a sign of relief as it’s rumored that the Mustang GT350 will start at $52,995.
Ford sources at the Los Angeles Auto Show told HorsepowerKings.com about th priceis target base for the 5.2L flat-plane crankshaft V8-powered Mustang GT350, but it isn’t official from Ford just yet; a spokesperson didn’t respond to questions regarding the price.
This number leads us to believe that the Mustang GT350 will not be targeted as a Z/28 competitor, so perhaps it will be more of a street car for the race track than the other way around. If Ford wants to match the Z’s prowess around Nürburgring, perhaps the recently announced Shelby GT350R should do the trick.
