Is Bugatti Considering A Veyron Speedster?

It’s no accident that any news about Bugatti has been about the rightful successor to the Veyron, the Bugatti Chiron. Rightfully so, since the Chiron is looking to be one beastly car, all with its electric turbochargers and 1,500-horsepower from the 8-liter W12 engine. But before the Chiron arrives on the scene, the Veyron may get one last triumph.

According to Automobilethe Veyron may receive Speedster variant with completely bespoke bodywork. The move would be in similar fashion to what Lamborghini had done by transforming the Murcielago into the Reventon or by reshaping the Gallardo into the Sesto Elemento.

The project would essentially be busywork for Bugatti’s workforce while it completes the Chiron for its debut in 2015 or early 2016. The Veyron Speedster would be available in very limited quantities, but in typical Veyron fashion, would be sold out quickly and briskly at six-figure prices.
