Ford Trucks And Mustang GTs Salute America During Ford EcoBoost 400 Pre-Race Event: Video

Attendees of the 2014 Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway got a big pre-race spectacle filled with American pride. In fact, it’s difficult to get any more American than a huge flag pulled by a Ford Super Duty, trailed by a pair of 2015 Ford Mustang GTs and a ceremonial F-16 flyover by the Makos of the 93rd Fighter Squadron, all to the tune of the Star-Spangled Banner.

The pre-race practice of pulling a giant flag has become a pre-race tradition for the event. And though the flag pull wasn’t new, organizers at the 2014 EcoBoost 400 provided a new perspective by equipping the Mustangs with cameras. The result is quite an incredible scene, as the flag waved right above the Mustangs, with the colors blending through onto the car.

So while (seemingly) every sport tries to spice up its festivities with new items, it is rather difficult to beat NASCAR’s approach. Because at the end of the day, what is more American than trucks, pony cars, fighter jets, and the American Anthem? Nothing. Good for The Blue Oval for tying into something this patriotic.
