For those seeking proof that Audi’s quattro system can be tons of fun, look no further than the video below, which features a driver of a 2013 Audi RS6 Avant doing doughnuts galore in an open parking lot.
“But… how?”, you may ask. “How are doughnuts possible with the sticky quattro all-wheel-drive?” Well, because of the way that the modern generation of quattro is configured: in normal driving scenarios, it sends most of its torque to the rear wheels, while the system — thanks to some trick differentials — sends even more power to the rear wheels during performance driving situations. Like doughnuts.
So, enjoy the fifteen seconds of footage in this video, which just could very well be the best thing you’ve seen all day:
All this has got us wondering why Audi doesn’t offer the RS6 in North America, in sedan or wagon forms.
