There was hardly any downtime for Audi during press days at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, with the official debut of the Q7’s numerous technological advancements and their new, “production-ready” self-driving technology. But among all the headline-making news, Audi quietly previewed an all-new piece of technology.
According to The Verge, Audi technical boss Ulrich Hackenberg summoned a self-driving car to the stage using a new LG smartwatch developed specifically for the automaker. Little is known about the new gadget, however it reportedly runs a customized version of the Android Wear operating system.
The watch could be a one-off made solely for the Audi press conference, as its design doesn’t match any other LG smart watch. Let’s hope the stylish instrument is more than just a specialty watch made for Dr. Hackenberg, as it’s one of the classier smart watches we’ve ever seen.
