Listen To The New Ford GT And Its Twin Turbo V6 Burn Some Petrol: Video

The 2016 Ford GT is undoubtedly the star of the 2015 North American International Auto Show, as it was constantly consumed with attendees trying to get a better look at its modern, yet strikingly GT, styling. A picture may be worth 1,000 words, but how about some video of The Blue Oval’s new super car firing up and delivering a few snarly revs?

What you hear in the video is the sound of two turbochargers spooling up a 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6 mounted in the middle of the car. Sure, some think that the new Ford GT should have arrived with the 5.2-liter V8 from the Ford Shelby GT350, but the modified 3.5L EcoBoost engine is no slouch on paper, and we don’t expect it to be at the track either.

Ford is saying that its newest animal is good for 600+ horsepower, with all of those ponies being ushered through a 7-speed automatic transmission. Add the car’s lightweight carbon fiber structure and “the GT will exhibit one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car”, says Ford. Plus it reportedly has a top speed greater than 200 mph, and 0-60 of around three seconds. What’s not to like?

So, without further ado, we give you some of the first of the all-new 2016 Ford GT firing on all cylinders. Enjoy.
