Move over, Barack Obama; the users of reddit have a new AMA celebrity to fawn over, and his name is Elon Musk.
Mr. Elon Musk participated in an AMA (“Ask Me Anything”) Q&A session on the popular message board earlier this week, addressing everything from the technological singularity theory, to what his favorite alcoholic beverage is (whiskey). But the vast majority of questions asked of him were in regard to the SpaceX company, delving into some absurdly detailed discussions of rocket science. Things like the finer points of utilizing gravity to secure the first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket to a barge during landing, and the merits of grid fins vs. cold gas thrusters for precise maneuvering.
Such things are rather beyond the scope of this automotive news site. But one reddit user did manage to bring up a prevalent question regarding the rebel billionaire’s electric car company; user “StapleGun” asked: “Hi Elon, I’m already saving up for my [Tesla] Model 3. Can you share anything about the Model 3 that we don’t already know?”
Of course, mum’s the word on all things Tesla Motors, as usual. Elon Musk simply replied: “It won’t look like other cars.” So much for gleaning some useful insight on what to expect from the automaker’s future electric offerings. For that, we may need to build a super secret ray gun which seeks out and incinerates nondisclosure agreements.
Excuse me, Mr. Musk, know any good physicists who could help us with that?
