Roush Mustang Axle-Back Exhaust Gives You More Growl For Your Green: Video

If you remain somewhat underwhelmed by the rather timid exhaust note of the Ford Mustang V6 or EcoBoost, you are not alone; aftermarket tuning company Roush Performance felt the same. That’s why they’ve released a new axle-back exhaust kit for 2015 Ford Mustangs equipped with either the 3.7-liter V6, or the 2.3-liter EcoBoost I4.

The Roush Mustang axle-back exhaust kit is listed at $571.99 on the Roush Performance website, but if it’s a demonstration you’re after, look no further than the video below. First we hear the boring, nasally, lazy exhaust note of the 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost with the stock exhaust. After that, the Roush Mustang axle-back exhaust kit flaunts its mighty tone.

Simply put, this Roush Mustang axle-back exhaust kit makes the 2015 EcoBoost model sound closer to what it should be: beefy and low, with plenty of angry hiss from the turbocharger.

Sadly, Roush doesn’t share any dyno charts for the axle-back system on their website, nor do they list any power gains. Most likely, any gains from freeing-up that last part of the exhaust tract are negligible. But hey, if you have almost $600 to spend on a noise enhancer for your 2015 ‘Stang, we say go for it.
