In case you missed the 2015 Daytona 500, Joey Logano drove his Shell-sponsored Ford Fusion to a win under a nail-biting green-white checker finish. As you can imagine, it’s a pretty big deal, seeing as it’s the biggest win of Logano’s career and he’s one of the younger drivers on the grid at just 24-years old.
Even if you’re not a Logano fan and would’ve rather seen a drive like Dale Earnhardt Jr. or Kevin Harvick cross the finish line first, there’s no denying this was one of the best finishes to the Great American Race in recent memory. Logano took the lead with only nine laps left, at which point the field switched to a three-wide formation, making it extra hard for him to block the hard-charging Chevys behind him.
The race was pretty nerve-racking from the other side of the television, so you can imagine how Joey felt inside the car. Luckily for him, it’s all over and he can stick to doing interviews and celebrating until the second NASCAR race of 2015 at Atlanta rolls around this Sunday.
