Watch A Porsche 918 Spyder Drift Through The Snow: Video

We’re not quite sure if seeing a video of something means you can cross it off your bucket list, but somehow, we doubt we’ll ever be so lucky as to be able to drift a Porsche 918 Spyder through a closed snow course.

But we can gawk, at least.

The guys from GT Spirit recently went on a little trip to Finland, in order to ride along in a Porsche 918 Spyder as it went about its wild oversteering business on a snow track, at the Porsche Driving Experience Winter Camp, in Finland. Why yes, it does gets quite sideways around the corners.

This Porsche 918 Spyder did have one small, advantageous modification; the car was riding on snow tires bearing 6 mm spikes for better traction. For this driving session, the car was also set to Race Mode, which inclines the big rear wing to a steep angle in order to generate sizable downforce. It also increases the rate of energy recuperation, and squeezes more oomph out of the 279 HP electric motor duo.

The driver in this video is clearly a bona fide pro, which of course, kind of has us nervously second-guessing our inclination to write the experience on our bucket lists. We’d probably just crash the thing.
