Lamborghini doesn’t have the historic racing history of its arch-rival Ferrari. But it is looking to enter the space with its newest FIA racer, the Huracán GT3.
The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 was unveiled via a cinematic introduction video of the car clipping apexes and smoking tires, but the Italian supercar maker has given us a behind-the-scenes look at how that video was captured. How hard can it be to capture an FIA spec Lamborghini racing around a road course? Not as easy as you may think.
Special chaser vehicles must be equipped with proper equipment to stabilize the picture, and capture the lightning-fast Lamborghini Huracán GT3. Meanwhile, drones must hover high above the track to catch aerial shots of the race-spec supercar. Overall, many man hours of planning went into creating the official unveiling video — which is only a little over one minute long.
The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 will be making stops in Monza, Silverstone, Paul Ricard, Spa-Francorchamps, and the Nürburgring as part of the 2015 Blancpain Endurance series calendar, where it will encounter fellow Lamborghini LP 620-2 Super Trofeo. But while those events are still to come, feast your eyes on the behind-the-scenes video.
