Audi TT Sport Cup To Celebrate Debut At Hockenheim This Weekend

After twelve months of preparation, the Audi TT Sport Cup will officially host its first ever race this weekend during the 2015 DTM Festival at the Hockenheimring. Audi’s new one-make race series will give lower-tier drivers the opportunity to show what they’ve got and hone their skills in front of Audi bigwigs and the rest of the DTM crowd in twelve different races this season.

All TT Sport Cup drivers completed their initial race preparations and setup work during a simulated race day on a short configuration track at Hockenheim last Saturday. Project leader for the TT Sport Cup series, Rolf Michl, said the final tests “went smoothly,” which made them “even more excited about starting to race,” this weekend.

The race series will also give journalists and other guest drivers the opportunity to experience the racing from inside the cockpit. Three journalists with racing experience participated in the Hockenheim practice last week, in addition World Rallycross driver and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust, and will also compete in the series opener.

The first race of the TT Sport Cup will kick off on Saturday at 10:10 a.m UTC, with the second race starting at 9:40 the following morning. If you’re interested in watching the series’ debut, Audi will provide a live stream for both races on on www.audi-motorsport.com.
