How Ford Modified The New Mondeo For The Russian Market

On April 9th, 2015, Ford started producing the all-new Ford Mondeo sedan in Russia for the Russian market. Known as the Fusion in North America, the range of midsize cars has been a runaway success for The Blue Oval globally. And to ensure the Mondeo’s success in Russia, Ford is giving the midsize sedan some important modifications for the Russian market.

To start, the Russian-market Mondeo is equipped with a special winter package that includes an electric windshield defroster, electrically heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and an optimized windshield washer system.

In addition, the Mondeo is adapted for Russia with a ground clearance that been raised by 12mm (0.4 inches) “to meet Russian road conditions”. However, Ford paid special attention to the suspension adjustments and their effects on the Mondeo’s excellent driving dynamics and braking efficiency.

With the modifications, Ford says that its new Mondeo “has been tailored to meet the needs of discerning Russian customers”, and is therefore “fully-adapted” for the cold climactic winter conditions seen in some parts of the country.

Russian customers are able to buy the all-new Mondeo sedan in four specification levels and three advanced EcoBoost gasoline engines.
