Mildly Updated Chinese Market Ford Taurus To Be Shown In Shanghai

Ford has officially announced it will debut the new Chinese-market Ford Taurus at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show on April 18. The Blue Oval will also roll out seven other new models for the Asian Pacific region at annual event, including the Focus and Fiesta ST.

The new Taurus to be shown in Shanghai won’t have much, if anything, in common with the next-generation Taurus to arrive in North America in the somewhat near future. Instead, it should have a revised front section with a chrome grille, new headlights and other small design changes, as seen in spy shots of the model Autoblog dug up in January.

The new Chinese-market Taurus will be shown alongside the newest additions to the Ford Performance lineup and the GT supercar. The automaker says this wide-reaching auto show lineup should ensure there is something at their booth for all consumers.

“We are looking forward to taking the wraps off seven new vehicles for our customers in China and continuing our delivery of great products and innovative technologies,” John Lawler, chairman and CEO of Ford China, said in a statement. “With the new Ford Taurus, our Ford Performance vehicles, and a few other surprises, there will truly be something for everyone.”
