Most people familiar with cars and the automotive industry know the Ford F-150 is by far and away the best selling vehicle in the United States. You can bet those F-150 sales contribute a great deal to Ford also being the best-selling brand overall, accounting for 15% domestic automotive sales.
How did we know that? We watched CJ Pony Parts’ informative and easy-to-read motion graphic on the American automotive industry’s performance in 2014. We also learned that light-duty trucks accounted for 52% of overall auto sales, the most popular new car color was white and only 6.5% of cars were manuals.
We’re only scraping the surface of the information available in the motion graphic, which we’ve embedded below. Taking in information this way is much easier and more fun than sifting through PDF files and documents, so you’ll definitely want to check it out. Or you could stare at a chart made in excel for a couple of hours to get the same info. Your choice.
