There’s a select group of cars you are almost guaranteed to see at any given autocross event. Mazda Miatas, Mitsubishi Lancers and Subaru Imprezas are usually abundant, but you don’t expect to see a vintage Ford F100 out carving its way through the pylons.
The reason you don’t see a heavy body-on-frame pickup ripping through an empty parking at your local Sunday autocross is obvious, they are usually heavy, slow and far from nimble. That didn’t stop this guy from taking his truck out to the autocross just to see what it can do, though.
What it did was lots of drifts, but to be honest, it handled the tight corners better than we thought it would. There’s no word on if the old Ford has any upgrades, but from the body roll seen in the video, we’d say it’s a mostly stock Big Block F100.
