Ford Recalls VN & VO Transit Vans With 2.2L Duratorq Diesels Over Potential Stalling Issue In Australia

Ford Motor Company Australia is recalling certain VN & VO Transit vans fitted with the 2.2L Duratorq engine over an issue that could result in the stalling of the vehicles’ engine.

Problem: in affected vehicles, a small number of fuel injectors fitted to 2.2L Duratorq engines may have an incorrectly-assembled internal valve. If the valve fails, it can result in loss of fuel pressure which may lead to an engine stall. If the engine stalls it may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.

Affected vehicles: VN & VO Transit vehicles fitted with the 2.2L Duratorq engine and manufactured from September 16, 2014 through to January 8, 2015.

Number of vehicles affected: unspecified.

Remedy: Ford dealers will inspect vehicles for the defect and rectify the issue as needed.

Owners should: Ford has written to all affected owners, who are advised to contact their Ford dealership and reference:

  • Ford campaign number: 15S01
    PRA number: 2015/14704
