Top Gear as we know may be off the air, but the Top Gear Magazine guys are still hard at work, and in our opinion, they’re rather good at what they do. In the newest edition of the magazine, editors pit the Ford Raptor HPE600 from Top Gear Season 22 Episode 6 against Mercedes-Benz’s wicked G63 AMG 4×4, and the outcome is entertaining to say the least.
These two high power off roaders are from separate parts of the globe, but they have a surprising amount in common with one another. Both the Ford and Mercedes are powered by a forced induction V8, both were developed with total off-road capability in mind, both are four-wheel drive, and neither would look out of place on a battlefield if done up in a little camouflage. The only question is, which one’s better?
You’ll have to pick up the latest issue of Top Gear mag to find out if G63 or the Raptor won the comparison test, but if all you want to see is a little off-road action from the two, check out TG’s preview video for the issue in the video below. It’s only two minutes long, but that’s all it took to convince us to add both these vehicles to our “if we were millionaires car wish list.
