Volkswagen Beetle Convertible Wave Concept Is Made To Enjoy The Summer

Say hello to the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible Wave concept. Introduced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in April, the spicy vehicle was designed with one purpose: to “enjoy the summer, whether in the Hamptons or in Santa Monica.”

The convertible proudly wears the Habanero Orange Metallic color on the outside that is offset by bright, 19-inch Tornado aluminum-alloy wheels and chromed door mirrors.

Inside, the Convertible Wave Concept fuses “technology and contemporary design with iconic styling elements such as the seating inserts in a classic houndstooth pattern that harkens back to high-end fashion and vehicles of the 1950s and 1960s.” The wood dashpad, which was designed in the style of a traditional surfboard, makes for a perfect design companion to the seats.

Though the Beetle Convertible Wave is still a concept car, Volkswagen hints that this might not be for long. The automaker notes that vehicles like the Beetle Dune concept that was shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2014 demonstrate its ability to bring them to market very rapidly. The Beetle Dune, for instance, will arrive in dealer showrooms in early 2016.
