2017 B9 Audi A5 Coupe Spied Testing At The Nurburgring

We’ve already seen spy photos of the next-generation B9 Audi A4 on several occasions, however until now, we had yet to see photos of its two-door A5 counterpart. The Audi-obsessed guys over Fourtitude have acquired some spy photos of the B9 A5 testing at the Nurburgring ahead of its debut and from what we can tell, there appears to be few surprises in store.

As expected, the styling appears to be evolutionary in nature. The front end appears more like the new Q7 with Audi’s new single frame grille and sleeker looking headlights, while the back appears more chiseled and features LED taillights which look thinner and more modern than those on B8 A5s. The side bodylines are largely concealed by camouflage, but for the most part, it looks like standard A5 fare.

The next-gen A5 will ride on Audi’s new MLB Evo architechture, as will the B9 A4/S4. The mixed material body structure should help save about 200-250 lbs in the A4 and A5, contributing to better acceleration, handling and fuel economy.

Check out the spy shots here before the A5’s rumored debut sometime early next year.
