FC Bayern München and Real Madrid CF will compete in the 2015 Audi Cup soccer tournament late last month, but at the time the automaker said it had yet to determine who the other two teams on the docket would be. We now know AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur will be the other two Audi Cup teams, with this year being Tottenham’s first-ever appearance in the tournament.
Audi says Tottenham is one of the “great tradition steeped English clubs,” which impressively took fifith place in the Premier League last season. AC Milan, meanwhile, has competed in all Audi Cup tournaments since its inaugural event in 2009. Hotspur will face off against Real Madrid in the semi-finals, with the winner advancing to the finals to play the winner of the FC Bayern Munchen and AC Milan game.
The Audi Cup will be a “showcase tournament of the soccer stars,” with big names like Real Madrid’s Luka Modric and Gareth bale facing off against former teammates from Hotspur like Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane. FC Bayern and AC Milan will also see some solid matchups, with Bayern boasting players such as Mario Götze and Arjen Robben and Stephan El Shaarawy and Jérémy Ménez representing AC Milan.
