Dodge Viper ‘1 Of 1’ Program Expands Options With Matte Finish Paint

The addition of one rather simple option to the 2016 Dodge Viper GTC’s already breathtaking list of options – a matte exterior paint finish – has doubled the number of possible “1 of 1” Dodge Viper configurations from 25 million, to 50 million.

The “1 of 1” program, for those who are unacquainted, is a customization program for the fifth-generation Dodge Viper which allows customers to specify every conceivable detail of the car, choosing between 10 wheel choices, 16 interior trims, 6 aero options, etc. Additionally, 8,000 different exterior paint options had been available, along with 24,000 stripe options.

The new matte finish option for the 2016 Dodge Viper GTC doubles each of those color counts; the number of exterior paint options now stands at 16,000, with 48,000 stripe options (stripes on the Dodge Viper GTC are available in any paint color and finish, in any of the GTS, SRT, or ACR forms). That’s because unlike most cars, the stripes on any Dodge Viper are hand-painted along with the rest of the body, underneath the top gloss or matte clear coat.

The icing on the proverbial Dodge Viper “1 of 1” cake is the badging; customers can order satin chrome or satin black badges and fuel filler door, as well as a personalized instrument panel badge for some truly unique flare. Our favorite so far is a mucous-green-colored Dodge Viper GTC with a personalized badge reading: “Snotrocket.”
