Introducing The HPE Ford F-250 VelociRaptor SUV, Destroyer Of Worlds

Feast your eyes (and imagination) on the king of the large Sports Utility jungle: the Ford F-250 VelociRaptor SUV, by Hennessey Performance Engineering.

It rather makes the Hummer H2 look like a Buick Enclave, don’t you think?

Autoblog reports that the HPE F-250 VelociRaptor SUV starts with a run-of-the-mill Ford Super Duty pickup, with extra glass and sheet metal to incorporate what was formerly the cargo bed into the cabin. Seating for 7 or 8 comes with the conversion, as do barn doors for easy access to the cargo area.

Much more interesting to us, for all the obvious reasons, is the range of engine options for Hennessey’s F-250 VelociRaptor. The stock 411 HP 6.2-liter V8 remains, but HPE tacks on a supercharger to bump power output up to 600-650 HP. Or, opt for the 6.7-liter PowerStroke turbodiesel, and you can expect to see modest gains from tuning up to 440 HP, and 880 lb-ft of torque.

The bad news, beside that your children’s college funds will now be spent at the pump, is that in order to even think about going through with the F-250 VelociRaptor conversion, you may need to re-mortgage your house. The HPE conversion costs a whopping $160,000, and the process will take about 6 months.

Even if you’ve been reading all this and thinking “I have to have it,” we’re guessing that’s enough to make you reconsider.
