Mercedes-Benz U.S. Sales Up 11.14 Percent To 29,583 Units In May 2015

U.S. Mercedes-Benz dealers delivered 29,583 new vehicles in May 2015, an 11.14 percent increase compared to May 2014. The results represent the brand’s best-ever May sales volume in the U.S.
“We’re on pace for another record sales year, with a full range of new or redesigned sport-utilities joining our lineup in the next few months,” said Stephen Cannon, president and CEO of MBUSA. “At the top of that list is the star of ‘Jurassic World,’ the all-new GLE Coupe, which arrives in theaters next week and in showrooms later this summer.”
May 2015 notes (vs. May 2014, except as noted):
- C-Class up 40 percent to 7,413 units
- CLA-Class up 131.9 percent to 2,816 units
- GLA-Class posted 2,386 sales
- B-Class posted 278 sales
- AMG GT posted 296 sales
- Sales of all other Mercedes-Benz models were down on a year-over-year basis
- Sales of Mercedes-AMG high-performance models totaled 1,201, an increase of 24.6 percent from 964 vehicles in May 2014.
- Year-to-date AMG volumes hit 5,027, up 4.7 percent.
- Mercedes-Benz BlueTEC diesel models delivered a total of 661 units for the month and 6,871 year-to-date.
- Sprinter up 22.3 percent to 2,769 units
- Smart up 21 percent to 837 units
Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) models posted a May sales total of 12,368, increasing 4.2 percent from the same month last year. Year-to-date sales of MBCPO vehicles total 50,174.
