Updated Fiat 500 Says ‘Ciao!’ Ahead Of Frankfurt Motor Show

Italians are often fashion forward, so it’s important for an unmistakably Italian car like the Fiat 500 to keep with the times stylistically. It would appear Fiat is up to just that, too, with slightly updated and facelifted versions of the 500 and 500c being caught in the wild by Autoblog photographers.

This refresh should be a mild one, with the prototypes showing restyled headlights, an all-new lower bumper section and grille, new taillights and a different rear bumper. Some exterior and interior colors will likely be offered, and Chrysler’s latest U-Connect infotainment system should also find its way into the compact city car.

There’s no word on major powertrain updates for the 2016 500, but we woudn’t rule it out entirely. More information on the 500 and its drop-top partner the 500c should become available shortly before its Frankfurt Motor Show debut in September.
