2017 Ford GT Race Car Caught Testing In Ontario: Video

Ford’s 2017 GT based race car will compete in both the TUDOR United Sportscar Challenge and FIA World Endurance Series in 2016, so there’s plenty of work to do before the new year rolls around.

Ford was recently caught by AutoGuide testing out the next-gen race car at Calabogie MotorSports Park outside Ottawa, Canada, not far from where it is to be built.

The 2017 Ford GT race car is powered by the same twin-turbocharged V6 as the road car will be, but will likely receive small tweaks necessary for racing. The car will also compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year as part of the WEC series, 50 years after the legendary GT40’s Le Mans debut.

Check out the video of Ford testing the new GT race car just below before the car takes to the race track in 2016.
