To Reveal This Lamborghini Gallardo’s Inner Hero, Just Add Water

Historically, graffiti had never risen to be anything beyond a nuisance: something left carelessly by juvenile hooligans eager to mark their territory – like a female cat who hasn’t been neutered, spraying her garbage all over the walls.

Of course now, graffiti has grown to become its own well-regarded form of folk art, and while German graffiti artist Rene Turrek may not hold quite so mammoth a reputation as the world-famous Banksy, he did paint the Captain America-themed Lamborghini Gallardo shown above. And it is pretty darn cool.

Website CarScoops reports that thanks to some chemical wizardry known as “thermochromatic paint,” the Lamborghini Gallardo only shows its red, white, and blue superhero theme when exposed to warm water. The other 23 hours of the day, it’s just a plain, burgandy Lamborghini Gallardo.

Prior to this Italian supercar piece, Turrek similarly painted a BMW X6 with an Incredible Hulk theme. It, too, looked ordinary until exposed to warm water. Turrek says that he can even change the temperature at which the thermochromatic paint will react and go translucent, revealing the Marvel Avenger below.

In other words, he’s a gifted, imaginative artist with a penchant for science. He ought to go on to do great things.

Be sure and watch the video below to see the Captain America Lamborghini Gallardo change its appearance in real-time.
