Could New Lincoln Or Ford Anniversary Models Be Headed Pebble Beach?

Ford has a lot of important product anniversaries coming up, a fact that has gone far from unnoticed by the automaker. At next August’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, two classes are reserved for 75th and 50th anniversaries of the Lincoln Continental and Shelby Mustang GT350R, respectively, and we’re starting to think they might have something special planned as a result.

For the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT winning the 1956 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford is returning to the race with a new GT. The automaker is also limiting production of the new Mustang GT350 and GT350R unveiled earlier this year in commemoration of the car’s 50th anniversary, and unveiled the stunning Lincoln Continental Concept in New York this year as nod to its 75th anniversary. Our point? Ford’s doing all sorts of great, surprising things in recognition of its most storied and successful products, so a Pebble Beach unveiling of a new concept or special-edition model doesn’t seem so far fetched.

All we have to go by is this 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance information page, which tells us nothing other than the names of Ford and Lincoln’s classes. If Lincoln or Ford do have something new for us in Monterey, it wouldn’t be the first time, with Lincoln unveiling its prestigious Black Label product line at the ritzy South Californian show back in 2013.
