Lamborghini To Debut New Hybrid Hypercar At 2016 Geneva Motor Show

Lamborghini reportedly showed an all-new model in private at the recent Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. We have yet to hear any details on the secretive supercar, but according to a report from Road & Track, it will be a LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder-fighting hybrid.

Prior to Pebble Beach we heard the new model would be Aventador based and thus likely powered by the same 6.5-liter V12 engine. The new hybrid is also said to be on the “same wavelength,” as the LaFerrari, Porsche 918 and McLaren P1, so there’s a possibility that the mystery Lambo will be a near 1,000 horsepower V12 hybrid. As such, expect the price to be somewhere well into the millions.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann told R&T the new car will make its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March. The German also confirmed there’s a couple of new Huracan model variations on the horizon, presumably a drop-top spyder and a rear-wheel drive model.
