Listen To A Ford GT40 MK2 Bring The Thunder To Spa Francorchamps: Video

If we were rich, we’d spend our days participating in different vintage automobile races around the world. We’re still working on that whole ‘rich’ thing, though, so for now, we’re stuck watching videos of vintage racing online.

That’s not such a bad reality, however, because every now and then we come across a goose bump-inducing video like this one from YouTube’s Marchettino. Taken at the recent Spa Summer Classic at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium, it features raw footage of one of the most legendary racecars in all of motorsport, the Ford GT40 Mk2.

You probably know all about the GT40 MK2, but in case you don’t, we’ll fill you in quickly. Henry Ford II had wanted to race at Le Mans since the early 1960s and in 1966, two years after first launching the GT40 program, the automaker took a 1-2-3 finish at the endurance race in the GT40. It then proceeded to win the race in 1967, 1968 and 1969, much to the dismay of Enzo Ferrari and the rest of the boys in Maranello.

So if you want to listen to the thunderous 7.0-liter V8 engine note of one of the most legendary cars to ever grace the pavement at Le Mans, check out the video below.
