Rod Stewart’s Lamborghini Miura 400S, Diablo VT Roadster For Sale At Lancashire Dealer

Rod Stewart is rather fond of luxury and supercars, having been recently spotted driving a Ferrari 458 Italia Spider in Los Angeles. But his affinity for powerful performance cars is nothing new, dating all the way back to when he purchased a Lamborghini Miura in 1971.

Now, that very same Miura is up for sale by Amari Supercars in Lancashire, United Kingdom. After Stewart sold the car, the second owner converted it to SV-spec, a £100,000 expense. As some Lambo fans may know, the SV boasted an additional 15 horsepower thanks to different cam timing and carburetors, raising its top speed to 180 mph. The car comes with delivery records dating to 1971 and a photo of Stewart’s then-girlfriend Dee Harrington posing with two other Miuras.

Stewart’s affinity for Lambos didn’t fade as the years went on. Much later, Stewart bought a 1999 Diablo VT Roadster, which is also now for sale at Amari. In addition to Stewart, the car was previously owned by boxer Peter Thornley, who portrayed Kendo Nagasaki in professional British Wrestling in the mid 1970s to early 1990s. Just 20 right hand drive Diablo VTs were ever produced, and this is just one of four which left the factory with fixed headlights.

The Diablo VT will run you £269,995, however the Miura is worth much more, not surprisingly. If you’re looking to climb behind the wheel of the car that reshaped the supercar genre, that’ll cost a cool £999,000.
