Just Where Will The Ford GT Be Racing In 2016?: Video

Ford is taking their new GT supercar racing in 2016. The automaker couldn’t take the car racing in both America’s WeatherTech United Sportscar Championship and also the FIA WEC alone, though, so they hired on Chip Ganassi Racing to lead the four-car effort.

In a recent video filmed during shakedown tests at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, Chip Ganassi Racing said he was honored to field the GT in two separate racing series, one of which will see the GT return to Le Mans for the first time in 50 years. Its easy to understand why he feels so strongly about being given the opportunity, and considering the teams success with fielding the EcoBoost Riley Daytona Prototype, they were probably Ford’s best choice.

Hear what else Ganassi had to say about his teams’ upcoming WeatherTech and FIA WEC efforts in 2016 in the video above. Towards the end of the video a schedule of all the WeatherTech and FIA WEC races is also displayed, so you can see which venue nearest you the GT will race at.
