Fed up with waiting for the 2017 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor? Or maybe you just want something with a little more spice.
In either event, the 2015 Ford F-150-based Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 from Hennessey Performance Engineering might be right up your alley.
The engine’s output: it’s in the name. Yes, the Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 makes a whopping 600 horsepower at the crank (give or take a few), thanks to a Whipple supercharger putting out between 6 and 7 psi of boost. While the super-truck hasn’t been officially tested yet, John Hennessey himself figures that power ought to be enough for a low 5-seconds sprint to 60 mph, and a quarter-mile time in the low 13s or high 12s.
Beyond that, the Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 also ships with an offroad suspension offering more ground clearance than stock, plus upgraded wheels and tires, and naturally, whatever weight savings were accomplished at the factory with the switch to an all-aluminum truck body. While we’re sure that this will not be the last – nor even the best – super-truck to come along, the Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 is an appealing proposition for those with cash to burn and mountains to destroy.
