New Ford GT Said To Produce 630HP, 539 LB-FT From Twin Turbo 3.5L V6

Ford has yet to confirm how much power its new GT supercar will produce, however figures seen in upcoming Xbox One racing game Forza Motorsport 6 may have leaked the GT’s output before Ford was able to make the big announcement themselves.

The GT is the cover car for Forza Motorsport 6 and is the ‘hero car’ of the game. According to Motor Authority, Forza rates the GT’s 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine at 630 horsepower and 539 lb-ft of torque, which is combined with a total weight of 2,890 lbs and a 43-57 weight distribution split.

It’s not clear if Forza’s figures are accurate, however they had to work alongside Ford to feature the car in the game and have it on the cover, so we’re sure Ford saw and confirmed the power and weight figures before its release. It’s also possible the figures are intentionally misleading, and Ford’s preparing to drop a bombshell announcement in regards to the car’s actual output.

Either way, the GT’s 600+ horsepower and sub-3000 lb kerb weight should result in a worthy competitor to other mid-engine turbocharged supercars like the Ferrari 488 GTB and McLaren 650S. We’ll probably never find out on a first hand basis, though, so we’ll have stick to driving it in Forza 6.
