Production of the new Continental will move to Michigan when the MKS, currently built in Chicago, is discontinued.
The Executive Chairman for Ford Motor Company says that the plug-in hybrid “may be a bridge [technology] for a while.”
The vehicles affected include the Ford Taurus, Flex, Fusion, Lincoln MKS, MKT, MKZ, as well as the Mercury Milan.
And call it Fusion ST/Mondeo ST.
The culprit behind the recall are contaminants such as snow or water.
The Mondeo was tailored for Russia by equipping it with a special winter package and higher ground clearance.
It’s really a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), which are also known as an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV).
The recall consists of approximately 390,000 vehicles.

At the very least, the automaker has made these five updates.
The new midsize sedan is being made by the Ford Sollers joint venture at the Vsevolozhsk Plant close to St. Petersburg.
