Renault Alpine Celebration Concept Moves Under Its Own Power: Video

The revival of Renault’s Alpine brand is near, evidenced by the instant classis that is the Alpine Celebration Concept. The show car was first debuted at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but it was also brought out to the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it was caught running and driving under its own power.

Renault has yet to say what’s powering the Alpine Celebration Concept, which bears a striking resemblance to the iconic A110, but we’ve heard whispers that it’s a 250 horsepower 2.0-liter four cylinder borrowed from the Renaultsport Mégane. Not surprisingly, a manual isn’t expected to be offered, with a dual-clutch automatic being the sole transmission option.

The production version of the Celebration is expected to arrive in 2017 and may be called the AS1, according to Autoblog. It’s also said to undercut rivals like the Audi TT and Porsche Cayman, with prices ranging from 30,000 to 35,000 euros. For now though, just listen to its throaty burble in the video below.
