ProCharger Offers Bolt-On Boost For Your 2015 Mustang

If for some reason the 435 horsepower 5.0-liter V8 in your 2015 Ford Mustang already has you yawning behind the wheel, ProCharger has you covered. The company has become the first of its kind to offer a centrifugal air-to-air supercharger system for the new generation of the Blue Oval’s pony car, giving speed freaks like me and you a cheap and easy alternative to twin-turbo setups.

ProCharger’s new P-1SC-1 system for the 2015 Mustang uses a billet aluminum bracket design and compact belt-drive system, making it easy to install. The bolt-on kit leads the industry in “OEM-style fit and finish, ease of installation, and reliable performance,” ProCharger says, but what really matters is the power it adds.

When strapped to the Mustang’s 5.0-liter Coyote V8, the supercharger provides a 45% power gain over stock on 8 psi of boost and pump gas. With higher boost levels, made possible by making adjustments to the system through the handheld programmer, gains of over 50% are possible. If you want more power, a Stage 2 system with a larger intercooler can provide a 55% power gain.

Whereas normal roots type superchargers or twin-turbocharger setups require more work for installation, the ProCharger systems bolt on in around 5-6 hours and can be installed “with common hand tools in an afternoon.” They are also 100% reversible and don’t require you to cut or trim any OEM hardware.

If you have a few thousand dollars to spend on your Mustang and open afternoon, why not bold a little boost onto it?
