Slew Of Updates On The Way For Ford Full-Sized Vehicles

According to reports, Ford Motor Company will roll out updated versions of its D3 and D4 platform-based vehicles such as the Ford Taurus and Flex as well as their dressed up siblings, the Lincoln MKS and MKT, by the end of the first half of 2012.

We already saw a freshened Taurus in New York this past April with updated looks and engines, and expect the same kind of renovations to be revealed for the remaining full-sized D3 and D4 models as the year goes on. It wouldn’t be a long shot to expect Ford’s potent 3.5-liter EcoBoost six-pot to make its way into the 2013 Flex at the very least, as well as an updated 3.7-liter Duratec V6 for the Lincolns, which will put out over 300 horsepower.

From an interior standpoint, expect the adaptation of touch-sensitive controls a la 2013 Taurus and current Ford Edge to grace the interior of the Flex, but don’t expect much change to the layout of the Lincolns. Of course, expect subtle changes on the outside for all models. By the end of the first half of 2012, all of these refreshed models should be out of the gate.
