Rolling off the Kansas City, Missouri assembly line by 2013 in place of the retiring Escape will be the new replacement to the storied E-Series van line. Enter the T-Series, though you may already know it as the Transit full sized van in Europe. The rival to the Mercedes Sprinter van has reportedly been given a different name here in the states to avoid any confusion with the much smaller, car based Transit Connect van. Makes sense to us.
It’s also evident that The Blue Oval has filed trademark applications for T-250, T-450, and T-550 designations. We may also see some slight differences with the American model than the one sold in Europe, such as a different transmission or engine offering. If you’re in a trade that requires a van, the impending arrival of this vehicle should be exciting news.
