Justin Bieber Arrested After Drag Racing Lamborghini Gallardo Under The Influence

You may have heard of Justin Bieber. You know, the 19-year-old Canadian pop star who is known to give some the Bieber-fever. Well, he is facing a number of rather serious charges after an incident with the police early Thursday, which has become the news story of the day. So, forget about other geo-political current events, because this is clearly much more important. In fact, it’s possible that this is all that you’ll see on the news for the rest of the week… perhaps even longer.

According to various reports, the Beeb was stopped by police in Miami Beach for alleged drag racing in a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo, and later arrested. He has been charged with drunk driving, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid license (his was expired). After being booked into a Miami jail, Bieber reportedly made a few statements confirming some of the offenses, and then posed for what should qualify as the best mugshot. Ever.

Bieber “made some statements that he had consumed some alcohol, and that he had been smoking marijuana and consumed some prescription medication,” Miami Beach police chief Raymond Martinez told CNN. Martinez stated that, upon being pulled over, Bieber did not cooperate with the police questioning him — hence the resisting arrest charge.

The car Bieber was allegedly racing in the reportedly-rented bright yellow Gallardo was a red Ferrari, which was piloted by rapper Khalil Sharief — an alleged associate of Bieber’s. Sharief was also arrested on a drunk driving charge.

The seemingly-happy-to-be-in-prison (and possibly still under the influence) Bieber has been released on $2,500 bail, and was then chauffeured away in a black Cadillac Escalade. Here’s to hoping they didn’t drag race any Lincoln Navigators on their way to the airport.
