Ken Block’s Gymkhana 6, Now In GoPro Edition: Video

In case you’ve just discovered the Internet, Ken Block’s Gymkhana exhibitions involves him driving — with style — thorough intricate courses laid out for optimal showmanship. One of the great appeals of the Gymkhana videos is you get to see Block in action, from a multitude of different cameras, all at various angles. From the pedals, to the steering wheel, and all the way to panoramic shots of San Francisco, the viewers are given the ultimate viewing experience. But, with the phenomenal rise of GoPro cameras and their growing use in the action sports arena, it seems fitting Block would take his Gymkhana videos to the next level.

To put the versatility of GoPro cameras into perspective (and the enhanced viewer experience Gymkhana 6 provides), Block and his team placed the small camera apparatuses in every place possible. In fact, locations ranged from the standard helmet and steering wheel locations, to embedded in the engine bay and mounted to the props used to create the course. The result – a Gymkhana experience like no other.

Whether the feathering of the pedals, or the bumpers scraping props as Block slides his Ford Fiesta rally car through tight spaces at ridiculous speeds and angles, the GoPro cameras prove their worth.
