Volkswagen dealers delivered 27,112 vehicles in February 2014, a 13.81 percent drop on a year-over-year basis.
“February was an expectedly modest month with the wind down of outgoing models and the fewest number of selling days,” said Mark McNabb, chief operating officer, Volkswagen of America. “Nonetheless, we are pleased to see our core vehicles and TDI Clean Diesels continue to show strength in the market. With a full range of fuel-efficient vehicles, seven of which deliver more than 40 mpg on the highway, we anticipate steady demand as we enter the spring selling season.“
February sales highlights (vs. February 2013):
- Jetta Sedan deliveries totaled 10,597 units
- Passat deliveries totaled 6,997 units
- Tiguan deliveries totaled 2,019 units
- TDI Clean Diesel models accounted for 16.8 percent of sales
- Passat TDI sales were 1,696, representing 24.2 percent of the vehicle’s total sales
