2013 “Need For Speed” Ford Mustang Sells For $300,000 At Auction

A short while after the box office debut of the racing-action flick Need For Speed, a 2013 Ford Mustang that starred in the blockbuster movie crossed the block at Barrett-Jackson’s West Palm Beach auction for a cool $300,000. The lucky new owner? A certain Dave Flynn from Columbiana, Ohio.

While reviews of the movie were mixed, many a car enthusiast would have a heart attack being in the presence of some of the hot metal in the flick. From Koenigseggs to Ferraris, the film has it all, with the protagonist driving this 900+ hp Ford Mustang throughout the movie. In actuality, power came from a standard 5.0 V8 producing 420 hp, though the cosmetic improvements include massive 22-inch forged rims, a specially produced body kit, twin-snorkel hood, and blue racing stripes.

According to Ford, the Mustang has played a role in nearly 3,000 films over its 50 year lifespan.

In a kind act of charity, the producers of the film donated all the proceeds of the sale towards the Henry Ford Health System, an organization which actively supports the Edith and Benson Ford Heart and Vascular Institute.

Car-enthusiast since birth. British at Heart. Just enjoying the ride!
