Ford COO Mark Fields Likely To Succeed Mulally As CEO

Alan Mulally‘s tenure as CEO of Ford Motor Company will be over at the end of 2014. According to Bloomberg, COO Mark Fields will succeed him. This is unofficial, but it is expected to be announced on May 1st.

Mulally left Boeing for Ford in 2006 and is credited with straightening out Ford’s finances and adding fuel-efficient vehicles to the company’s portfolio, including numerous hybrids.

Fields is a 25-year Ford employee who purportedly has been a fan of the Board of Directors since they began planning Mulally’s successor two years ago.
