Good news has arisen in regards to the status of seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher. According to an official statement released by Schumacher’s agent, Sabine Kehm, the F1 ace is showing “moments of consciousness and awakening.”
“Michael is making progress on his way. He shows moments of consciousness and awakening. We are on his side during his long and difficult fight, together with the team of the hospital in Grenoble, and we remain confident,” the statement read.
“We would like to thank you all for the continuous sympathies. At the same time we again ask for understanding that we do not intend to disclose details. This is necessary to protect the privacy of Michael and his family, and to enable the medical team to work in full calmness.”
Schumacher fell into a coma after hitting his read on a rock while skiing in the French Alps above Meribel. He was put into a medically induced coma due to the injuries, though doctors have been slowly making attempts to awake him since the end of January. The announcement is the most promising advancement in the former Formula-One star’s condition since the accident first happened in December.
