Volkswagen Documents The 2014 Southern Worthersee Event: Video

The Southern Worthersee Volkswagen event is an annual car show and meet for Volkswagen enthusiasts from all over the United States. The show is tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the Chattahoochee River in the town of Helen, Georgia. Helen is a town known for its Bavarian-inspired architecture and striking geological similarities to the Wörthersee region of Germany, making it the perfect location for a German car meet.

Volkswagen enthusiasts bring out all sorts of things to SoWo, from customized Mk1 Golfs to bone stock 2014 Golf GTIs. In their recap of the event, Volkswagen interviews two owners of two very different VW Golfs. The first has an Mk2 Golf with a turbocharged VR6 VW engine swapped in it, which were sure makes for some some interesting on the road. The second is a younger owner who has a nearly bone stock MK1 Golf which appears to be in great shape considering its more than 30 years old, lending to the extensive variety of cars which show up SoWo each year.

Check out VW’s coverage of SoWo in the video below and if you like what you see, maybe you can bring your Golf, Jetta or whatever other Wolfsburg product you own out to the meet next year.
