Volkswagen Group of America has appointed Scott C. Vazin as Executive Vice President of communications. In his new role, Vazin will be responsible for all elements of corporate communications for the Volkswagen Group and Volkswagen Brand, including corporate media relations, product communications, all public relations campaigns, internal communications, community partnerships and philanthropy.
47-year-old Vazin joined VWGoA in March 2011 as the Vice President of Communications for the Volkswagen Brand. He most recently served as Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for Volkswagen of America (the brand). In his new role, Vazin will continue to report to Michael Horn, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America.
“Strengthening our Group communications team is critical to achieving our long-term growth goals in the U.S. market,” said Horn. “Scott brings a wealth of automotive and leadership experience, and will continue to contribute to the strategic and operational oversight of our Group and Brand communications.”
Vazin spent 15 years with Nissan in variuos communications roles before joining Volkswagen in 2001. He started his automotive career at Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America in California in 1990, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Marketing, from California State University at Long Beach.
