At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Ford unveiled the refreshed 2015 Focus ST. For the new model year, the Dearborn-based automaker left the vehicle’s 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine alone but improved the interior, retuned the front suspension, and fiddled with the electric power steering to make the hot hatch even better.
To demonstrate the revised capabilities of the Focus ST, Ford devised a plan to race the car up the Goodwood Hill against a virtual version from Gran Turismo 6. “The Former Stig” from Top Gear UK, Ben Collins, was at the helm of the real vehicle while gamer Krisztian Somodi handled the virtual Focus ST. Both cars set off at the same time to see which world reigns supreme.
Somodi and his virtual Focus had the edge during practice runs, but Collins was set on beating him during the timed run. From the video below, it’s apparent that the former Stig is pushing the Focus ST pretty hard for a close race. Who will win?
