Bosch And ChargePoint Chosen As e-Golf Charging Providers

Volkswagen of America, Inc. has announced that Bosch and ChargePoint will provide charging services for the upcoming e-Golf electric hatchbacks. The e-Golf is the first zero-tailpipe emissions electric vehicle to be sold by Volkswagen in the U.S. The e-Golf is set to go on sale later this year as a 2015 model.

Bosch has been chosen by VW as an installation services partner for the electric vehicle. The company will also provide a host of 240-volt charging options, which includes the Power Max charging station, as well as full-service installation for e-Golf drivers.

Volkswagen selected ChargePoint to provide VW with charging stations to all e-Golf dealerships and access to the largest network of public EV charging stations in the world with 18,000 public charging locations. Every e-Golf will possess a ChargePoint membership card, which will give owners the opportunity to charge their car on the go.

As part of the partnership, VW e-Golf dealerships will receive the latest iteration of ChargePoint stations complete with VW branding, which will be installed by Bosch. These stations will be available for public use and for interested buyers to get a hands-on look at EV charging.
